A thank you note

My newly made 8 x 8 inch mixed media card! Finished it off just a few hours ago. It's kind of an abstract style and a bit of unusual 'Thank you' card. I am loving it to bits.

Close ups too -

I am entering this to:

Unknown Man

One more art journal spread of Intuitive Painting to Mixed Media Place even though I said after the third one that it is my last one.;) I can't help it! But this one is my absolute favourite one!!!
Here's the page when I was looking for some shapes. I couldn't help it, this giant weird man kept staring me from my art journal, I just had to bring him 'out'. Can you see him too?!

Here's the finished one:

All this painting is getting on me (in a good way!), I believe, so I made one quick poem about the story on those pages.

In a land in the middle of nowhere,
another glowing sunset,
as enchanting as everyday.
The far forgotten tree on a mountain cliff,
about to fall
but not yet the time.
There lived a man
a giant size,
with the cape to hold him warm.
For the winter months to still come.
He was alone,
yes, forsaken,
but he didn't mind.
He just wasn't assured who is that wanderer,
who came to say: 'Hi!'

I used: Liquitex Acrylic Soft Body Cadmium Yellow Medium Hue, Ultramarine Blue (Green Shade), Titanium White; Tulip Slick Dimensional Paint (Orange); uni Black Pen; Silks Acrylic Glaze (Yellow Rose).

All the best and thanks a million for popping by!

Keep going

Hi, how are you,
I came across this nice challenge blog called scrapki wyzwaniowo and this month they have a challenge - 'abstract art and no flowers'.

Abstract art (done with vibrant colours especially) has a special place in my heart already from my teen years ... and I can do well without flowers!;) And what a coincidence - I got the feeling of doing some abstract art a few days ago ... !

I used a small 3D canvas - 12 x 10 inches. I added a little bit of Flexible Modeling Paste with the painting knife for the underneath texture beforehand. I didn't limit myself with acrylic paints and Matte Gel Medium only but other than Liquitex Soft Body Acrylics [and some Tulip Slick Paints, Americana DECOR Chalky Finish Paint and ARTISTE Acrylic Paints too] I also used String Gel Medium and Cosmic Shimmer Clear, Midnight Black and Gunmetal Texture Paste (the last two gave some nice sparkly touches).

Close ups:

I used mostly my painting knives. Took a help from Polka Dots Mask too in one place. And can you see that I am loving my (Liquitex) Splatter Brush too!;)

Many people don't get abstract art and for them it's just a puddle of scribbles and paint splashes. But put that aside and instead try to see what the painting 'tells you', learn it's language - let the painting speak!!!

My painting is called - 'Keep going'.

Thanks a million for popping by,
