A daring warrior

I found out about LESSology Challenge Blog just recently. Their current challenge 'Dress Form' got me interested. In the blog we read that we can create anything as long as it incorporates at least one up-cycled item. My husband's empty perfume bottle popped in to my mind instantly what I didn't throw away and left it ''just in case''. So that was a good choice, wasn't it!
Also from the up-cycled items I used a leather remnant for the cape and a metal ballchain from a tag as a belt.
I covered the bottle with tissue paper, painted it light grey with acrylic paint and then brushed on some Cosmic Shimmer Sparkle Texture Paste Midnight. My aim was to make it look a bit like a coat of mail.
Glued on the arrows, attached the belt and made for my warrior a fancy cape with a brooch. I think he looks quite smart! What do you think?

Thanks a lot for a visit,

The pears

Good morning, how are you!
I am continuing with my watercolouring journey. I keep practicing and hoping that one time will be the day when I will wholly master painting with watercolours and I will whisper to myself with a great emotion - ''Kris, today is the Day, you have done it!!!''

In the meantime there are some things I came to a conclusion when working with the watercolours - I most certainly don't like the clean lines as much and I relish the combination of ink & watercolours.

For the following drawing/painting I was using an image from The Graphics Fairy as a reference. At first I did a quick sketch on a Arches Hot Pressed 300 g Watercolour Block (23 cm x 31 cm) with the waterproof ink pen and then started to use the amazing Schmincke Watercolours.

I am entering this to the Mixed Media Place Creative Gym - Exercise #13- ''Today is the Day''.

(The quote was inspiring to me!)

I am entering ''The Pears'' also to scrapki-wyzwaniowo November Challenge -Leaves.

Thanks a million for a visit,
